Having worked for six years under the combined direction of Daniel Hanrahan, MAI and of William A. Boyle ( The Boyle Co.) and having secured the M.A.I. designation from the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, Bill Ard opened a two room office in the Albender Building, Elizabeth , N.J. No fax, no copier, no computer, no e-mail and no “mail box”. An I.B.M. typewriter and plenty of carbon paper constituted the “hardware” and “software”. Our secretary actually “took” shorthand.

         The phone didn’t ring often but it was a beginning and it was exciting. The concept of presenting quality reports in a timely fashion at a competitive price in the market place won acceptance. And we grew…..
